The City of Marion has a full-time Office Assistant position open at Marion Carnegie Library.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the library. This will include: administrative and office support functions; daily staffing and work assignments for all circulation personnel; general supervision and maintenance of the records of the Senior Aids and Community Service Workers; staffing, daily operations and maintenance of the Coffee Bar; supervision and record keeping for the Security Officer and supervision of maintenance staff.

The schedule is eight hours per day, including 1 night per week and 1 Saturday per month. Candidates must live within a 20 mile radius of the Marion City Hall or move to within that radius in 18 months. They must successfully pass a drug and medical screen, background check and be approved by the Marion City Council.

Qualifications: High School degree, some general college or Liberal Arts courses desirable. Must have three years office experience. Must have working knowledge of computer operations, including word processing and spread sheets. Should have excellent organizational skills, good analytical and problem solving skills, good time-management skills.

Benefits: Salary $15.00 per hour, paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
